Common Ground Clinic and Horse Sense 101 a Success for 2017
The 2017 Common Ground Clinic and Horse Sense 101 brought in a host of riders and observers alike to spend a beautiful Sunday at the San Marcos Walnut Grove Horse Park learning more about equestrian disciplines. We started the day with a great Hunter/Jumper clinic presented by Kristy Fowler, a local trainer specializing in beginning to Grand Prix level training, followed by a groundwork session presented by Emily Taylor, which focused on helping riders develop a better connection with their horses through a series of ground exercises. Cherie Lankford then closed the clinic sessions with a presentation on "Tactful Transport", covering a variety of important and useful tips and tricks for successful equine transport. The Horse Sense 101 sessions included an informative presentation provided by the Fallbrook Pony Club, featuring members of the club demonstrating proper equipment management and horse care. The team also provided an overview of Pony Club competitions. All in all, a great day!
TOVEA hosts the Common Ground Clinic and Horse Sense 101 event in May of each year in celebration of the San Marcos Day of the Horse so be sure to come out and join us next year!
